A Visionary's Initiative
Education of a child cannot possibly be restricted to imparting of the three basic ‘R’s viz Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic or be constrained to routine dispensation of subject knowledge, so ordained by the syllabus in dreary and drab classrooms. Education must be a holistic approach permeating every aspect of development of a child and more so during adolescence.
This was the vision of the founder Chairman of Columbia Convent, Late Shri Virendra SinghTyagi, who shaped this school in 1991 to impart education that was personality-centric rather than, just knowledge-centric.
The school was modeled along international standards keeping in view the futuristic goals of modern educational system.
Columbia Convent was built in the sprawling grasslands to ensure a conductive learning environment away from the hustle-bustle of the city and its accompanying distractions.
Since its inception, the students have excelled in various fields. The institution is a living testimony of the vision that shaped it.
